Palliative medicine aims to relieve symptoms and pain a patient suffers due to a serious illness. Goals of palliative care include reducing suffering, improving the quality of life for a patient, and supporting the patient and family throughout the treatment process.
Delirium is an acute state of confusion marked by sudden onset, fluctuating course, inattention, and at times an abnormal level of consciousness. Delirium is extremely common but can be challenging to diagnose. Its manifestations range from acute agitation, which accounts for less than 25% of all cases, to the much more common but less frequently recognized hypoactive, or quiet, variant.

The 管家婆心水论坛 is recruiting medical students to act as standardized patients at Internal Medicine Meeting 2017 to be held March 28 - April 1, 2017 in San Diego, CA at the San Diego Convention Center.
Students are needed for:
- The Point-of-Care Ultrasound for Internists and Hospitalists pre-course on Tuesday, March 28 and Wednesday, March 29, 7:30am - 5:00pm. Students can sign-up for one or two days, and will receive a stipend of $75 per day.
- Ultrasound-guided activities in the Herbert S. Waxman Clinical Skills Center, Thursday, March 30 through Saturday, April 1. Students who register will receive a stipend of $20 per hour.
These are noninvasive workshops, and students will be used to demonstrate ultrasound technique and imaging of normal anatomy.
