Promoting Medical Student Trauma-Informed Care Knowledge and Attitudes through Academic-Community Collaboration
Trauma informed care (TIC) is an approach to clinical care that centers on how trauma affects patients, particularly those in marginalized communities. TIC has been shown to improve psychobehavioral outcomes, decrease retraumatization, and increase trustworthiness and mutuality between patients and clinicians.

Cardiac Amyloidosis
Amyloidosis is a pathologic and clinical condition resulting from the accumulation of misfolded proteins in tissues. Extracellular deposition of amyloid fibrils in the myocardium leads to cardiac amyloidosis, which is often overlooked as a cause of restrictive cardiomyopathy.

Q&A with Infectious Disease Physician and Medical Epidemiologist
The internal medicine interest group at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Ivins campus invited Ginamarie Foglia, DO, MPH, FACP to speak about her career as an infectious disease physician and medical epidemiologist. Dr. Foglia discussed her internal medicine and subspecialty training, as well as her post-graduate positions, so that students could learn more about this possible internal medicine career.
Chapter Chatter
Running from April to September on the first Thursday of the month, the ACP Texas Chapter will be hosting its first Ethics and Professionalism virtual series. This six-part event, presented by healthcare attorney, Karin Zaner, JD, is designed to provide an overview of best practices and process relating to contracts, reportable events, TMB complaint process, credentialing, peer review as well as legal and ethical responsibilities for physicians in practice. Registration is free for ACP members and past sessions will be available on the chapter's meeting hub.
