Candidate Bios

Candidate Statement: My interest is to help the ACP, institution which I鈥檝e always admired, increase their impact in the practice of medicine. For many years, I鈥檝e been dedicated to the education of students, new doctors and specialists in Internal Medicine. I鈥檝e chaired a variety of organizations, with emphasis on improving the medical practice. As Medical Director, I鈥檝e worked towards accreditation of Joint Commission and IM Program, while promoting other programs, such as the new cardiology fellowship, while being a consultant to multiple areas in the hospital. I鈥檝e been president of the Medical Board in PR, and founding member of the College of Surgeon Physicians of PR. Our chapter needs to unify doctors and the community through education of what an Internist represents and nurture physician鈥檚 knowledge; having empathy with the current challenges faced by Internists, asking them about their concerns and giving purpose to the institution, motivating doctors to become members.
