ܼˮ̳ partners with Core IM to offer continuing education

Philadelphia, June 24, 2019 – The ܼˮ̳ (ACP) and , a podcast featuring clinically relevant and internal medicine-specific information for physicians of all levels and backgrounds, are partnering to offer continuing medical education (CME) credits and maintenance of certification (MOC) points to ACP members.

“Core IM is one of the top-ranking internal medicine podcasts and offers ACP members another convenient choice for continuing education and lifelong learning,” said ACP President Robert M. McLean, MD, FACP.

Core IM features four categories of podcasts that range from knowledge translation and clinical reasoning to critical thinking and humanities topics:

  • 5 Pearls: The hosts solidify five applicable, relevant pearls on an internal medicine topic.
  • Hoofbeats: Experienced clinicians are challenged to solve diagnostically difficult cases with listeners in real time.
  • Mind the Gap: The hosts explore the evidence – or lack thereof – for common internal medicine practices to tackle knowledge gaps and challenge dogma.
  • At the Bedside: Discusses humanities topics that reach beyond traditional evidence based medicine and delves into the ethics and emotions that come with practicing today.

After listening to each episode, ACP members can login to ACP’s Online Learning Center to claim CME credit and MOC points.

The first ACP-Core IM podcast, “Coronary CTA: 5 Pearls,” will be available on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

“Core IM podcasts are created very intentionally with active learning principles in mind, thinking of how the listener will translate teaching points to the bedside, enhance their clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and curiosity,” said Core IM Chief Executive Producer Shreya P. Trivedi, MD.

Core IM is currently downloaded 60,000 times per month and is available on Apple Podcasts and other podcast platforms. Core IM and other ACP podcasts are available on ACP’s podcast landing page.
