Philadelphia, PA (April 21, 2020) – The ¹Ü¼ÒÆÅÐÄË®ÂÛ̳ (ACP) is honoring six chief residents as winners of the Herbert S. Waxman Chief Resident Teaching Scholarships.
The 2020 chief resident awardees are:
- Jeffery Gray, MD, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD
- Benjamin Hayes, MD, Northside Hospital Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, GA
- Vincent Kang, DO, OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus
- Henry Lew, MD, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii in Honolulu, HI
- Sarah E. Schall, MD, Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX
- Sarah Steinkruger, MD, University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle
ACP established the Herbert S. Waxman Chief Resident Teaching Scholarships in 2014 to recognize outstanding chief medical residents and to provide them an opportunity to assist teaching popular workshops under the guidance and mentorship of expert faculty in the Clinical Skills Center at ACP’s annual scientific meeting. The Clinical Skills Center is a collection of educational activities that provide hands-on learning under the guidance of expert faculty, interactive self-study, and other events and exhibits designed to improve physician well-being and professional satisfaction. ACP’s 2020 Internal Medicine Meeting was canceled in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
