The Diversity and Inclusion Award recognizes a member of the MD ACP Chapter whose work and/or volunteer activities promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in medicine and whose expertise contributes to reducing health inequities.
Promotes an environment that is welcoming, supportive and nurturing to all
Improves awareness related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and bias
Leads efforts to eliminate health inequities and improve health outcomes
Mentors those from historically underrepresented groups,(e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, etc.)
Demonstrates leadership in diversity, equity, and/or inclusion activities
Initiates innovative approaches to creating diversity, ensuring equity, and/or fostering inclusion and social justice through research, innovation, education, and advocacy
